Dropbox: Cloud Files Storage App Reviews

This app randomly just told me that video uploads are turned off. I cannot find anyway to turn it back on. I bought Dropbox to be able to upload my videos (and photos). I have deleted and reinstalled the app. Im frustrated. It will not allow me to upload them.

Please bring Carousels photo delete function over to the Dropbox app, like you promised would happen. I hate having to double check back and forth before deleting photos from my phone.

Carousel was an amazing app that streamlined backing up photos. Dropbox wont continue to back up even when the background function is turned on. Totally the pits. I miss Carousels option to clear space photos off your phone after theyve already been backed up. BRING BACK CAROUSEL!!! I dont want to pay $10 for a service that isnt even worth $1.

They had my business until they made the "difficult decision" to shut down carousel. It was a stupid decision. We are using mobile devices and their current mobile app is just a rolling mess and so dated. Carousel was great and they decided to head backwards. Do they honestly think that those albums are of any use on a computer. Of course, Ill just throw my laptop into my pocket if I want to travel and organize photos. Or...I can walk around with my desktop in order to show pictures. Its utter stupidity on their part but Google photos is a good alternative. They allow edited photos, allow for live photos and they make gifs and videos. I had over 8000 photos organized in carousel and I sent at least 10 emails asking if Id lose those albums on my mobile devices. I even had a yes___no___ so theyd give me a straight answer. All I got was "No. You wont lose your albums" This started back in October and I finally received an email stating that those albums are gone. They lied by omission which is every bit as offensive as any other lie. Im done with them. I dont need a rolling Clusterf?!# of photos. Im slowly organizing with Google. Apple will eventually have their own cloud service so bye bye Dropbox. Theres no room for 2005 storage. We need organizable mobile photo apps, I already pay for Apples cloud storage just so I can keep photos across all my devices. Theres no need for Dropbox anymore. Go with Google if you want a better version of the now defunct carousel app. Theyre idiots!

Its such a relief to know that all my photos are backed up in one safe, secure place. I lost my father last year and when I broke my phone a few months ago with all of the photos I have of him and I, I was quickly reassured after logging on to Dropbox. If it werent for this app, I dont know what I would have done. Its also super easy to use! Big fan

All Businesses number one priority.....is making a profit. Second is listening to customers requests. Everyone loved Carousel.....but Obviously they werent making money with that add on service. Something about Carousel added on more of a cost and brought them less return. My guess is even high level workers at Dropbox are sad to see it go. Hopefully they figure out a way to offer Carousel again and also profit from it. A good business move would be......charge a little more for Carousel. Obviously there are some customers that would pay an extra fee to keep it.

This app and program used to be good but now it gives a false full storage message and wont upload more than 25% of the 2 gb fills up with photos and videos and then says storage full. I am ready to find a new service and stop using DropBox all together.

Everything else works. How do you manage to break that... And why isnt paper supported on iOS??

Show Dropbox with your wallets why we need carousel back! It was smooth and effortless, now without Carousel, dropbox seems pointless. Amazon it is

Ive a suggestion: please add grid view option in folders as well! Also your internet page on the pc browser is quite ugly compared to Google Drive!

I am so glad that I came on here to say something that so many other people have also said. I miss Carousel! It was so much easier to get to and organize my pictures. Storing pictures from my computer and freeing up space on my phone (which is always due to too many pictures) is the main reason I used Dropbox. I loved the convenience on carousel and how easy it was to move photos into folders for easy access. Unless I am mistaken, there is no function on the app to move multiple pictures at once. Such a huge flaw! Also I lost all of the organization I already had on carousel! Please bring back the feature of carousel!

Still no live photos support up to this point? Im very disappointed

If the patch notes say whats actually being improved then Ill change this to a 5 star review.

App is good. I just have one issue. You guys have Condolisa Rice on your board of directors, least you can do is put a change log when you update the app. If youre going to run as a CIA front, at least try to make an effort to blend in.

Tired of copy/paste Release Notes that tell us nothing. No change log = 1 star

Being so grossly vague about what has changed does not make the app very transparent.

I can listen to my music on my iPhone offline which is great because it saves me data but I cant skip to the next song without backing out and selecting another! That stinks!!

Tell us what the updates are. What do u have to hide? Nothing? Then tell us!

Cannot open files in apps. Unfortunately the Dropbox developers have chosen not to implement the iOS open function which allows you to open Dropbox files in-app. Google Drive, Box, and iCloud files support this but Dropbox does not. Major fail Dropbox.
